HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING

HERSRaterLA will spend as much time as you need to get your newly installed heating and/or air conditioning system ready and prepared for HERS testing and certification. For newly installed central heaters or newly installed ducting, only one HERS test is required: a Duct Pressure Test. However, for newly installed air conditioners, up to four additional HERS tests may be required: Minimal Airflow, Refrigerant Charge Verification, Blower-Fan Power Test (Fan Watt Draw and SEER/EER Verification).

PRE-CONSTRUCTION & PLAN CHECK

Your Title-24 consultant told you that you need to get an “Existing Conditions” verification. What does that mean? We will explain the process, visit your property, certify your current conditions and work with your Title-24 consultant to submit all the preliminary materials.

NEW CONSTRUCTION

When building a new home, several HERS measures may be called out for field verification on the Title-24 (officially named CF-1R) document. Your Title-24 document lists all the required HERS measures; we will guide you through completing the field verifications and certifications as well as assist you, if required, to fill out additional Title-24 self certifications for air sealing, insulation, windows, lighting, plumbing, etc. (CF2R ENV- 01, 02, 03, 04, LTG 01, PLB-02…). Want a heating and cooling system that is far more efficient than everyone else’s without expensive equipment or to lower your carbon footprint? Contract us to discuss “right-sizing” your HVAC system.

HEATING AND COOLING NEEDS ANALYSIS:
"MANUAL J, MANUAL S, AND MANUAL D" CALCULATIONS

Are you required by your building inspector to have an ACCA (Air Conditioning Contractors of America) certified Manual J room-by-room load calculation or, would you like to know what the most proper size heater and air conditioner is so you can lower your carbon footprint and install the most energy efficiency system? Are you planning an addition, making an alteration or even just replacing your existing unit? If any of the above questions apply, consider first verifying the correct size of your equipment. We can use your building plans or if you do not have any, come out to your property and take all necessary measurements to calculate accurately what the ideal size heating and cooling equipment should be for your home or space. The industry-wide, accepted practice is grossly to oversize equipment and undersize ducting, for which you pay the price - buying more expensive machines, lacking comfort and paying annual excessive heating and cooling costs. What we charge for Manual J,S&D calculations will be easy returned through purchasing smaller equipment and getting exponentially better performance from the equipment installed. Before you settle and sign a contract, review what people have said about our indoor climate design services on Yelp and Angie's List and call us for a consultation. You wont regret it.
